The sound of holiness is the sound of coherence. It is what happens when belief and behavior stop living in separate departments. Prayer and fasting are not tools to make us impressive. They are instruments God uses to make us honest.
Fasting reveals where appetites rule us more than convictions. Prayer exposes how often we seek God’s approval rather than His will. Holiness is not the absence of struggle. It is the refusal to negotiate with what God has already named.
A holy church is not a perfect church. It is a surrendered one. It does not obsess over image management. It obsesses over obedience. Over time, the culture changes. Conversations deepen. Accountability becomes welcomed rather than resented. Integrity becomes normal rather than exceptional. Peter did not frame holiness as a lifestyle enhancement. He framed it as a response to God’s character. “As he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct.” Holiness is not about appearing different. It is about becoming congruent with the God who has called us.

How Do We Practice This Today
Fast from anything that compromises your attentiveness to God.
Invite the Spirit to reveal one habit that needs surrender.

Let holiness begin in the hidden places.

Holy God,
